Leilani Kai

Leilani Kai, or the Hawaiian Princess, as she was called by her fellow wrestlers early in her career, broke into the WWWF in 1977. She often competed against the likes of Vicki Williams, Vivian St. John, Wenona Little Heart, Judy and Joyce Grable, Kandi Malloy and Suzette Ferreira up until 1980. However, it wasn't until the evening of February 18, 1985 she would have perhaps her most famous moment as an integral cog of the Rock 'N Wrestling Connection at The War To Settle The Score. She played the foil to Wendi Richter, who had just dethroned her mentor Fabulous Moolah for the WWF Women's Championship on the Brawl To End It All special on MTV in July 23, 1984. Kai toppled Richter, becoming WWF Women's Champion and the two went onto to meet again at the inaugural WrestleMania. Richter regained the title.

The next stretch of Kai's WWF tenure involved her reuniting with a previous tag partner, Judy Martin, who she teamed with earlier in her career. Manager Jimmy Hart dubbed the pair the Glamour Girls and led them to success as they captured the WWF Women's Tag Team Titles twice. The Glamour Girls frequently battled the Jumping Bomb Angels - as well as other talent from All-Japan Women's Pro Wrestling (AJPW). One memorable contest between the teams took place at the inaugural Royal Rumble wowing the crowd. Kai was unceremoniously bounced from the WWE in '88 and wouldn't be seen again on WWE TV until '94.

Kai returned to the WWF in '94 to challenge Alundra Blayze for the WWF Women's Title at WrestleMania X. Blayze was the face of the Women's Division which was revived in '93 after being deactivated in '90. The challenger failed to come away with the title but that wasn't the end of her road as she went on to face Blayze multiple times on a European Tour.
